Don't Text And Drive, Kid!

Posted by Mark McCray

Text messaging has become a way of life for todays youth (and even adults!).  But serious problems can arise from too much texting.

One of the biggest problems takes place behind the wheel of a car.  When a child gets a license to drive a car, they are often given a cell phone to go along with that car so they can keep in touch with their nervous parents.  Instead of giving peace of mind, this cell phone can become a deadly distraction.

All too often kids are getting in accidents on the roadway because they are texting and driving.  In fact, nearly 50% of teenagers have admitted to texting while driving!

The device that I would design could be easily incorporated into a teenagers car and would effectively render the device useless at getting anything but phone calls.  All texting features of the drivers cellphone would be turned off.

If I could find a way to get the device to only block the phone of the driver from texting, that could be a good feature to implement as well.

I would call it the "Text You Later" device or in the more common "text message shorthand, the"Txt U LTR" device

It's called The Bronx Stop, and it's a Blog covering the New York Yankees (my apologies if you are not a big fan, as I know most people around these parts aren't).

This has been my entrepreneurial "project" for just a little over a year now and is a pretty fun hobby.

I earn around $100.00 a month from the text link advertising that I run in the right hand side bar on the home page.
